What does this verse mean? Romans 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. If you insist on believing that old lie from satan that men decide who will or will not be saved by and act of their so-call "free will" why does God make such a point of teaching against that in His word? You KNOW your right.. you finally admit your attitude .. Your first post had the "diplomatic" or "politically " correct tone but I knew even then that you were UTTERLY convinced I was wrong and did not desire to spend any time re-examining your own belief system in light of God Word. Your whole bit about us both praying was such an obvious con. Did you read the posts I asked you to?? Explain this statement to yourself..forget about me.. somehow you will either need to ignore major portions of scripture or end up just "thinking" your right like me. Romans 9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. These verse teach that God ( whom you say loves everyone ) HATED ESAU. God hated Esau before he was born.. You will say God forsaw the evil Esau would do but Jacob whom God loved did far more evil ... and if it is based on foreseen acts of the flesh then how is salvation not of works?? If it is based on some kind of Faith conjured up in the flesh rather than a gift of faith why does the Bible clearly discount the "forseen works " concept by saying this: == neither having done any good or evil, == If you believe that God bases His Election on foreseen works then you do not believe in salvation by grace alone at all. What does Paul mean when He says this in that context? that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works I know you are right and I only think I am but the Bible suit what I teach more than what you have been taught so maybe God only thinks He is right as well.. Your right but you cannot prove that God loves everyone because the Bible clearly teaches that that is a lie... Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. Lies are from satan.. Your gospel starts with a lie and ends with a bigger one. I was saved by God because He chose me before the world began to be a vessel of His mercy... It is pure Grace and not based on any foreseen good that I did or would do.. in fact I came kicking and screaming..
