I was just pointing out the obvious regarding the emotional problem this person had. I am not sure there is any connection to my now long ago losses in Amazon. Actually, your numbers are a bit off. See I lost $1.7 million on Amazon.com but my gains that year cut that loss to only $500K. I am not embarassed that I had the loss nor would I say I made an attempt in "managing to loose." I simple learned a lesson that some stocks can go up indefinitly or close to it for no apparent reason to me. I also learned to cust losses. None the less, my judgement is likely as good as any here.

I have a policy of not personally attacking people so let's drop it.
