Voltaire,
Congratulations, You were right on but off on the upside by about 10 points. You have a great feel for the market for someone outside of it. You preached caution to us and if anyone listened they took the proper steps. I am still long, have been long for a long time and am also long puts on the whole sector. I too think we are in for a whale of a correction but we can never protect ourselves enough. Remember time compression, this will be a fast and violent shakeout and the brave who stay with Q will be rewarded. You have performed a great service to this board and I regret that I did not listen because as I look back your posts have been right on. Keep up the good work. Some of your reasoning concerning market makers is screwed up but you will get it right as soon as you realize that this stock is very liquid since the split. The MM's are not as big an item as you think they are. It is too big to manipulate except of course on expiration, and then of course the MM's and options boys can make any stock move like a puppet..

Thank You
JACK

It's good to see you posting once again Voltaire. Get better soon. Your voice is a beacon of reason (Hey, I kinda like that phrase) during this dark and stormy (with apologies to Snoopy) time.

Get better soon.

David

I see our range upcoming to be between two moving averages

the 18day MA now is turning down, at 145-147
the 50day MA now is at 120-122

I wouldnt be surprised to see a sudden short cover rally in the next 48 hours, halted by 18MA, or even 140 barrier

then a gradual fade back until FOMC is done meeting, supported by 50MA again

by this time, we could be facing a MACD crossover (downward)
subsequent rallies would be met with more fierce selling pressure, thus challenging 120 again

the 3rd time 120 is challenged, institutions might be empty on drypowder

I plan to hedge at 140 neighborhood (twice maybe?)
I didnt heed your warning at 160 at expiration day, and hedge
nor on earnings day, and hedge then either
damn, it is hard to hedge

/ Jim

Voltaire, welcome back. That flu bug is nasty this year. Hope you will be back to normal soon. Going to the floor of the CBOE today to have lunch with the president and meet some of the floor traders.

Thanks again for all of the wisdom and warnings...

PS-Did YOU fly in that condition?

-Steve

Whew......Good morning y'all.
I wonder if I might pull up a seat for a rest?

Boy...I'm not one hundred percent sure what happened.
I'm a little ashamed to say I've been running around
with group of fellas who know how to pour the coals to
the merry making. I was under the impression we were
getting along just fine then, down there by the bottom
of the hill at the turnoff, they pushed me out of the SUV
while I was asleep. I thought it was some more of their
hi-jinks (they've been an unpredictable lot, I can tell
you) but they drove off and I suspect they aren't coming
back...

Funny thing is...the same thing happened to me about a
year ago down in Austin...Nice group of guys there too:
suits...Lexus...always giving each other gifts...

Excuse me...is that home-canned tomato juice?
No...no......well, OK just a little splash of the old
vitamin "V". Mmmmmm....ah, that'll take the edge off.

Anyway...as I was saying, I got with these fellas who had nice
suits and big cars and figured that they knew what they were
doing and where we were going. Pardon my fogginess...but,
well, I think they only used me as long
I gave them a few laughs.

Now here I am...and don't get me wrong...I can't complain.
It's been one hell of an adventure and
I've learned a lot but I've got a little squaring up to do before I move on.

The fellow resting down there in the hammock told me you
folks were a pretty welcoming lot and I might find a place
to get some rest not to mention some much-needed bearings.
He chuckled that a golf game might be asking too much until the
local plague passes though...even under the weather he had some good humor....

Usually I like to sit right out in the sun, but until I get my feet,
mind if I ease down into that high-back?

Thanks very much.

Odd...I'll be darned if some of you folks don't look familiar.
Have you ever been to San Diego?
