I'm curious as to what Intel could say lest it be self serving and perhaps do further damage.
I guess they could say something like..."after seeing that the Coppermine launch was going to be delayed AND even though some of our best customers really needed lower speed chips, we decided that it was in the best interest of the company and shareholders to go ahead and eliminate the P-III-450 and only fill original orders for P-III-5000s and NOT down bin extra chips as this would hurt OUR ASPs...
(better us than them)
We deeply regret leading our best customers to believe the Coppermine-i820-RAMBUS platform would be ready and at high speeds. We deeply regret any hardships this has brought to our loyal customers.
The quarter was further complicated by the fact we didn't see AMDs Athlon at such high speeds on out radar screen. We realize by not being able to provide enough high speed chips to our loyal customers that we embarrassed them and hurt there's and our reputation.
We did make our quarter and deeply regret not being able to help others make theres"

Jim

PS> Something tells me this won't happen.

John - Re: "They need to do it ONE MORE TIME, WITH FEELING."

I guess we'll wait and see what Intel does tomorrow.
