How do I get the scan to recognize only specific 'sic' catagory(s)?

The following information is from the Quotes Plus Scan Database help file. Notice in particular the use of the symbol "If" and not the symbol "input" in the code.

SIC

No parameters. Returns the Department of Commerce Standard Industrial Classification code for the Issue.

Example:

If SIC = 9999 then

Println Symbol;

endif;

Selects stocks that have an SIC Code of 9999

For multiple SICs codes use the following construction:

If SIC = 9999 OR 1234 OR 5678 then

Println Symbol;

endif;

I believe you have to scan for a specific SIC code or codes first, generate a list, then use that list as input for the scan of your choice. Such as..

Output="SIC.lst";
If SIC = 3773 then

Println Symbol;

endif;

then scan..
Input="SIC.lst";
Output="whatever.lst";
your parameters

hope i helped
