Hello Elmer:

<<. It is interesting to look back at the claims you made about Athlon being the fastest processor in the universe. How ironic it must seem that Intel now posts the fastest SPECint95 scores ever posted. >>

When I made that claim I already knew the SPECint95 and SPECfp95 numbers before the Microprocessor Forum in October of 1998. At that time it was faster than anything Intel got out in the market. PIII with Rambus came along much later. FPU of PIII is still the same FPU as PII.

<<2 Your claim that Athlon would take the speed lead proved false. Just like I told you.>>

AMD alsready take a lead in speed. They just don't want to announce their 1GHz. They can massively produce now if they want. Intel on the other hand is not there yet.

<<I will grant you that the Athlon is an excellent design. It just wasn't what you claimed it would be.>>

For a X86 K7 is an excellent design. FPU increased by 30%+ over PIII is remarkable. It claims as the world fastest X86.
