No, the guy who posted doesn't understand the business.....LU does million things (probably why they will have continuing problems -- they need to focus a bit better) and one of them is supplying basic components required for optics network (similar to JDS-Uniphase business). These are non-critical parts/supplies that NT can buy from other suppliers includgin JDS but there are major shortage of fibre optic supply due to the exploding demand so NT has to buy from anyone out there including LU but to suggest that LU holds the underlying technology -- that would be like saying some factory in Taiwan producing basic memory chip controls Intel's future.........hardly accurate!
