I don't disagree with the fact that valuation of CMGI is difficult, if it wasn't, it would probably be more closely valued than it is.

I think you are confusing one year's earnings with one quarter's earnings, yes, CMGI's earnings are dependent on sales of it's ventures and IPO's of it's ventures and that makes the timing unpredictable, but, in the aggregate that is getting less so....it has majority ownership in several large enterprises who revenues flow through to CMGI and so that aspect of it's numbers are increasing and the overall is tending toward easier predictability and that will lead,IMO to more accurate valuations.

I know the comparison to MSFT wasn't accurate....after all CMGI is still a growing company! <gggg>
