Sudan - Drilling Takes Off In New Oil Field
January 26, 2000

KHARTOUM, Sudan (PANA) - Oil drilling has started in a newly discovered oil field in the Unity State, south Sudan, with a view to promoting its productivity, the official
media reported Wednesday Called A5 Field, the area was found to contain oil in commercial quantities in mid 1999. Unconfirmed reports put the field's reserve at 250 million
barrels. Prospecting in the area is undertaken by International Petroleum Company, based in Sweden. Construction work has started on a 90-km land road linking the field with
Bentiu oil fields to the north of it. Addressing a celebration to signal the beginning of digging operations and road construction, the country's energy minister, Awad el Jaz urged
the local population to help company's "staff accomplish their mission." Sudan's confirmed oil reserve was put at 800 million barrels from the Bentiu field and Higleg field in the
nearby West Kordofan state.

Lundin is really cheap and in no way reflects over $25 oil prices or their positions in Malayasia, Sudan, Libya and North Sea. It would be criminal to take it private without offering it for sale to other cos. Neste Oy probably would pay $10/sh for it.The company lacks investor relations/public relations skills, at least outside of Sweden. And I am sure every Swede already owns shares!
A great company with a good staff and good prospects!

By the way check on www.stratfor.com and look for the improving US-Sudan relations. Lundin et al in 5A probably have well over a one billion bbl potential !
