ttosbt "break a strong link"

apologise if you misunderstood....the end user dell, did not break the link...the link becomes faulty when the downstream supplier (intc or whoever) fails to execute in unison with the upstream consumer.

look at it as a chain, at first weak...as the user grows, the link with the downstream grows in size and strength. at some point in time the maintenance of the link shifts from user to supplier. heavy demands are placed on the supplier, and this creates stress on the link....to much stress and the link weakens...eventually it may break...and the user has difficulty repairing this link, because they have no capability to do so...the repair must be made by the supplier....and if the link breaks completely the user drifts away into the uncharted waters that mr kelley spoke of!
