Hi Tony - I tend to agree with you that it is a win-win situation, so I am not too concerned about the intermediate term, but looking ahead, not only BCE is giving up its crown jewel, but also there is a remote possibility that that spinoff may be a prelude to NT leaving Canada for the US altogether. I am not trying to stir up an international incident <g>, but one has to ask what are the pros and cons for NT for [not] remaking herself as an US corporation. BCE's ownership is obviously a golden handcuff. Canadian tax codes make the US's - which most of us south of the border deem too high already - looks great.

Again, since BCE has made the choice, my musing has no impact whatsoever, but it is interesting to see how the domino may fall.
