If my recollection serves me, about three or four years ago, the State of Wisconsin purchased 1,000,000 shares of Identix in a private offering somewhere in the $6-$8 range. Anyone else remember that?

Hockeyfan,

Motorola would have rocketed the stock....but also may not have been good long term......as we do wish to see IDX remain IDX...and not be gone at $25.00. See Fowler's comments about being able to work with both Oracle and Microsoft.

This Ascom transaction is very good for several reasons.

1. Stock goes away.....long term....No overhead.
2. Goes from insider to institutions.
3. Shows that IDX is OK for retirement fund.....
4. Sets a huge example for money managers.
5. Pleases Commission Members.....Now longer and stronger.

I have talked to the largest holders of IDX within the Commission. They are very pleased......Would not consider selling IDX at this point.

Rather.....feeling that 2 new OEMs are on the way.....and a huge cellular market yet to be exploited......Most feel this is the best time to be in IDX.....and that once it does pop....Wall Street will go to IDX as the only really logical choice. IDX really does have "a unique position in the market."

And the Boys in the Montana Cabin.....saying $9.00 was the low.....are now looking good too.....feeling good.....and laying in a supply of cigars.

I think it is Onward and Upward........Yes?

Seat Open on Board of Directors

Hockeyfan,

After some deep thought......I have decided that there is no reason for Ascom to have a seat on the BOD......anymore.

So does the Retirement fund take the seat?.....Perhaps. But it is monster fund.....they may not want a seat.....although the trips to California might be a factor.

How about Billy Gates?......He has more time now.

Perhaps the Motorola CEO?

Louis Freeh.....Director of the FBI?

Maybe the MasterCard CEO?

Micheal Jordan?......Tiger Woods?.....That would be cool.

And what about the top dog at the Commission? They are large shareholders.....and big IDX supporters.

Hmmmmmm. Just another item on the "things to do" list for the new CEO......or perhaps one of Randy's last move?
