One company which has GPS technology is Trimble Navigation (TRMB) which I posted yesterday that I bought the stock. One side note: Yesterday Qualcomm spokeswoman said that SnapTrack will become a wholy owned subs of QCOM and will remain in San Jose. The name of the spokeswoman: Christine Trimble . LOL

This post is not a recommendation to purchase the stock. The stock is speculative in my view. The company announced earnings yesterday after the close but did not get publicity because everybody was waiting for JDSU.

Good Luck Investing

The company will be able to ofer a cost effective 911 solution to cdma carriers with whom it already has a good relationship. Remember that the carriers tend to be cozy with the manufacturers that brought them to the party. SnapTrack, at the very least, will protect Qcom's supplier status to the cdma market even if it doesn't break through to the other platforms. It may also be a way of breaking into the other platforms.
