May not have to wait too long for triple figures:

Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. (NYSE:
SFA), today announced it has received orders valued at
approximately $90 million from Adelphia Cable for several key
initiatives to support the rapid growth of Adelphia's interactive
digital network during calendar year 2000. Over the course of the
year, Scientific-Atlanta will supply Adelphia with a minimum of
300,000 Explorer(R) 2000 digital set-tops to deliver interactive
services to consumer homes.

"We are being aggressive in deploying digital services because we
have seen the positive reaction of our customers and it's clear
they are interested in receiving a richer array of cable services.
Scientific-Atlanta's Explorer set-tops and digital interactive
network are making a wide variety of interactive services
possible, and Scientific-Atlanta is supporting our business plan
to rapidly roll out these services to new markets," said Michael
Rigas, Adelphia's executive vice president of operations.
"Scientific-Atlanta's technology and the expertise of its service
team give us plenty of latitude to layer additional new services
onto our network as the market expands."

"The industry is watching as Adelphia becomes one of the first
cable operators to deliver the benefits of a truly interactive
digital system to its customers," said Jim McDonald, Scientific-
Atlanta's president and CEO. "These new initiatives based on our
Explorer set-tops are further validations of the joint success
Adelphia and Scientific-Atlanta have had in working together."

To date, Adelphia has already deployed Scientific-Atlanta's
Explorer(R) 2000 set-tops and digital interactive networks in
eight of its cable systems and is now able to offer digital
interactive services to more than one million subscribers. With
the new initiatives announced today, Adelphia is expected to
expand its digital service reach to 3.5 million subscribers in
calendar year 2000.
