OT....sadly, I agree with William. The individual investor will never rise in stature to the point where we can threaten the power base of those in control. We have to remember the a majority of small investors are fools (those on HOME excluded....except for me) that would just as soon have someone lead them to a stock pick rather than take control and make the choices all alone....
as long as there are those that want to be lead, there will be blatant manipulation by the leaders....
at any time, the small investor can be "rubbed out" (I love that movie quote - anyone know which movie?) by an orchestrated market crash.
I would like to believe that we can all make the choices that the power elite make at the same time with the same given information....but I don't see that happening as long as most people hand over the reigns to the "experienced" riders when it comes to our market choices.
Just my two cents....

Just started back in JDSU. . .will avg down. . GLW has been incredible since yesterday. . .added this AM. . .ENGA, etc. . . fund managers are buying with conviction for a change . . . I still say we will see a terrible low today on the over margined high fliers. . .then a V-bottom and advances beginning next week. . .

On our discussion. . . I never hear about brokerage houses getting wiped out. . . but there sure are enough individual investors that lose everything. . . I just don't like it. . .and am tired of sitting on my hands and keeping my mouth shut. The SEC is slow to respond and tend to make cosmetic changes only. . .

I DON'T like things the way they are. I believe in Ralph Nadar. Look at how the individual smokers have brought the tobacco industry to its knees. Now of course the markets are far different. . . but without the hope of a more level market, the little school teacher from Boise doesn't have a chance at making money in the market. . .

I want to see disclosures. . .on each trade, whether they are a buy, sell, short or cover. . .listed on T&S. . . .and I want full media disclosures by anal-ysts and every interested party. . .on every appearance and on each article published anywhere.

I realize there are no guarantees that the markets will stay the same or continue higher. . . but I still believe that whatever trading there is will be mostly via banks and ECNs in the next 4 years. . . and that globally. .a higher percentage of people will become investors than at any time in world history.

Brokerage houses will survive. . .but I resolve to dance on the grave of the first to go belly up.
