I bet you are having a bad hair day too.

Consider this. Dell might have been too busy gaining egotistical market share this last year and not paying close attention to the bottom line. Compaq can and did lose money in commercial PCs and still made a profit. Dell has to make a profit in commercial PCs to make a total profit. This weakness in Dell's model may really be stressed as iPaq type machines work their way into the commercial market. If that happens, Dell has to shift to lower ASPs and the great growth machine is dead. Maybe Compaq was dumping it's old commercial model T machines cheaply like bombs to drive Dell into this position and clear out inventory. Now they are going to hit the ground running with the new machines and new servers. If this is true, which company do you want to own? We might be seeing the shift in market power away from Dell to Compaq.
