TO the editor, Wall Street Journal:

Sir,

I subscribe to the WSJ interactive edition. I was appalled to see on the front page of the January 27th edition, a blatantly pro-administration opinion piece, ostensibly written by David S. Cloud, on poor Janet Reno's lack of respect.

Leave aside how ridiculous you make your paper appear by running a piece that contradicts and marginalizes the opinions expressed in dozens of editorials you've run in the past eight years. What disturbs me most is the placement of this Clinton apologetic in the part of the paper where I expect to read objective news. I will now be forced to read each item in light of the question “Is this objective or is it Al Hunt's peculiar take on it?”

You've got a serious editorial problem there. I sincerely hope you can get your house in order soon. It's distressing to watch a good newspaper go bad.

Sincerely,
