Kayaker....Whoa....$5 on the July 250"s...!!..Great move....!!.Whats the symbol..??..The calls I sold were on shares I bought originally as a trade in Oct-Nov...the Q ran so fast I decided to keep them.....Every time I sold calls last year I bought back higher....regretted the buy back at the time..(rolled them out once.)..but today Im glad I did......Still have a ton of profit in the shares but thought I'd start skimming a little $...TIA
Tim

well, my march 155 calls are down from $8 yesterday to $4 today... 50% loss in one day.. bummer..

still, if QCOM holds in the 120s and shows any signs of life in the next few weeks (esp. with some good news) I would imagine it could rocket back up nicely..

just hoping that unlike all my other calls.. this one actually turns out to be a winner..

stocks I had faith in and am down huge: AOL, EGRP, BBY, XPDR

hope QCOM bucks the trend ; but so far it isn't.. off high of $128 now down to $121 and showing ZERO support along the way

Implied volatility way down on Q...see 75% average on calls. Might be better to wait till stock rises a bit and maybe vols come back to life. (To contrast, I believe implied volatility got up to 135% when the Q was flying...gives you a better premium). I can see that it doesn't matter if you're not called out, and hey, getting 250 a share ain't bad. My point is just that this may not be the best time for call selling. Say QCOM has some good news and pops up to 160 in a month...maybe you could get two or three times as much for the call then. Just a thought.

Kayaker, with QCOM at 144ish, notice that you can get 9 and change for the Jul250 calls...better deal than last week. Double benefit of higher stock price plus higher implied volatility gives you better premium...I believe you bought back at a profit that which you sold for 5ish. Nice to have the ability to sell again if so inclined.
