Cooters, as a QCOM holder since 1997 I've been struck over and over again that the market tends not to value the various future potentials of QCOM until they become fait accompli. Stuff this board's discussed for months, and is in the public domain, all of a sudden becomes a big WOW when there's a flashy demo or some analyst finally picks up on it.

A great recent example is HDR which became the big WOW in November/December, even though its innermost workings and progress were all over the boards for months.

So much for efficient market theory! (Apparently only efficient in projecting out that which was, not that which will be). I agree with you and Art - right now is deja vu, all over again.

Although the price action reminds one of 1998, there are a couple of potentially positive outcomes. First, it gives prudent investors another buying opportunity. Second, it may allow QUALCOMM to provide the extra stock options to IJ at less cost to the company, since the cost of stock options is the difference between the exercise price and the market price at the time the options are awarded (!).
