Fuel Cells stocks were doing very little, and then...

The fuel cell stock I follow and invest in (ERC now FCL) was the best performing stock in my portfolio before the PLUG run up. It was up 300% +/- in the last twelve months. I anticipate continued appreciation once it settles down.

Most/all fuel cell stocks got caught up in the frenzy. However due to the diversity of fuel cell applications I would not paint all fuel cell companies with the same brush.

In addition to the efficiency advantage some fuel cells have over conventional power generating systems they will be affected by the green movement. I would anticipate additional volatility in conjunction with global warming issues which seem to be gaining momentum. Although a speculative play there is potential for above average growth IMO.
