thanks to those who replied to my post #64518 yesterday about leaps for cash purchase in my IRA. I am still getting flack from Paine Webber which tells me IRS Publication 590 prohibits this as a "wasting asset". I have not yet seen the publication, but ask again whether anyone has experience with PW or other firms on this question. Sorry for not posting against a more appropriate message, but I not too good at getting around SI. TIA, John

PS. "«" is the character for "1/2".
LOL! Sorry for being so dense: I run Browsemaster (a very user friendly SI manager), and what I was seeing was a symbol that looked like "<<". When you mentioned it was the half-sign, I went to siliconinvestor.com and accessed your post the "regular" way, and I could see the symbol fine. I didn't know that Browsemaster had any flaws, but I guess that's one.
PS. If all you really wanted was 250, you could've sold the Jan02 200 LEAPS for at least 50 bucks back on Jan 3...but I guess we all look back at that date with fond memories. LOL. Let's see if 120 holds here...
