Remember, women do better overall than men on the verbal and men better overall than women on the math. It does seem to reflect the way brains are structured and how they work.

The test is still the greatest predictor of academic success. And let's face it, HS grades aren't comparable.

I don't know what the SAT is like, but I did take the GMAT and was astonished to find that the verbal section was very highly geared to the kind of English grammar that I learned in junior and high school in England. American English is, in certain significant ways, different to English English. The test should really be geared towards American English as it is unfair to test on a way of speaking/writing that is not practised. If the verbal part of the SAT is similar to that of the GMAT then I agree, there is something wrong with the test.
