I find this generalization is way too simplistic.


Why? Most companies make decisions to build/expand plants at least 2 years before the market demands it. The more successful companies nail it on the head more often than not. Since the semi industry is still fairly new and has been in mostly an expansion mode until the past 4 years, I suspect good planning has not been cultivated.....and none of them are very good at outlining future needs and acting accordingly.

<So long as industry people like you believe that it has to be this way, most likely it will remain that way. Just a thought.>

It is not ridiculous....its only when people stop accepting the status quo, do things change. But it requires thinking outside the box.
