Nichols and thread - It was one sentance that did it...the reference to a 'slow down' in Q2 of chips ( and something else or not I forget now).

Thats what caused the collapse in the share price. And I say collapse because I would have said correction or pullback if there had been anything wrong with the earnings ....but there was't anything wrong with the earnings ...in fact just the opposite IMHO the business that is retained going forward was simply spectacular...but the stock price collapsed.

All because of one reference. I still believe that Dr J must have been adivsed to to do this in order to keep the stock price within reason. If he hadn't, if the analysts and the mo-mo players had focused or even still would focus on the results of the business that Q still has they would have been trying to evaluate the massive growth in revenues in a business of as nearly pure profit as you can get going forward as far as the eye can see in most parts of the World except Europe....what would that have done to the stock price?????

No I think Dr J wanted and was advised to cool it in order to avoid a serious bubble in the stock price which wouldn't have done anyone any good.

The problem here is that now Pandora's box has been opened you don't know where it can stop with a stock with Q's P/E.

Whoever didn't rate Vols predictions you have to hand it to him this time. OK he got the pre-announcment price a litle light but boy was he right about getting out before the announcement and not after!!!!

Best regards

L

You make interesting comments. My thoughts mirror yours.Soon it'll be all good again. To quote Dustin Hoffman as he tosses this great line from "Wag the Dog"."This is nothing ,this is fixable".Probably not an exact quote but very close.
Cheers
Ed

Hey, I'm a great mind here and I haven't said we are dead money.

And about that "our beloved...blah, blah, blah..." UGH!

I sure hope nobody is selling here like some of my friends did yesterday.
