Because I think that only two reasons exist for the delay
and I don't think they are being addressed.

#1. A serious problem with the Copper process.
#2. Low demand keeping an otherwise operational fab closed.


EP, I agree the first one is serious and would make AMD, specifically Sanders, the consummate liar. But if it is the second one, then I don't see a problem. No one has assumed that the Athlon would receive endorsement right away. Acceptance of a new product takes time....and fortunately for the AMD, the acceptance of the Athlon is going in the right direction.

So if there is not a problem with Cu, then AMD is in a very enviable position. A new fab that is a great asset and can be used to expand production when needed and/or rented out with little overhead until either or both happens.

Frankly, I think Sanders cut himself a good deal.
