"This kind of reminds of the day that 7 analysts either upgraded or started coverage on UPS and the stock was down 10%."

This might have some validity. Might could. If it did in a mo mo market, a person would simply want to buy the dip without regard to fundamentals such as p/e etc. Without regard, because there would always be another person tomorrow willing to pay more for such a great growth company.

It might could make sense if only the rest of the market was in good shape. It is not--there are many signs that appear to be pointing to a major market top.

Ciao,
David Todtman

Rich1, I understand where you're coming from. I am sure that many who have followed AOL for the past year and have witnessed all the glowing analysts' reports which failed to materialize feel as you do. However, most of the analysts who have just commented upon JDSU have one year (not one day) targets. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt that they're at least pointed in the right direction. Besides, I sleep a little better knowing that most analysts agree with me, and most of the others on this thread, that JDSU is heading much higher.

I haven't seen any revised analysts' one year targets for JDSU that seem outrageously out of line. Unlike the PW analyst's $1,000 target for QCOM, which I considered to have been irresponsible and reckless.

Let's agree to re-visit this subject in one year and see if the likes of Gruntal, et al. made reasonable projections. I'm willing to bet (and have bet large sums) that they have.

Good luck to all JDSU longs.
