Glad you liked it.....

Ya know growing up...there were 4 kids in my family. Our friends all called my parents.....Mom B and Pappy. My parents were by no means "cool." But EVERYBODY loved them!!!

Is Karen a mean mom???? There needs to be mean Dads also. Mike is working on it!!!

I remember one important decision I had to make. I remember my talking it over with my mom. The decision involved taking a job, outside of the Pittsburgh area. I wanted with all my heart to stay in Pittsburgh. I talked this dilemma over with my mom. As we sat in the kitchen, she encouraged me to literally make a list of the pros and cons of both job choices.....and base my decision on that. I made the list as we talked. The list clearly indicated that the out of town job was the best opportunity. I knew I had and "ace in the hole" with my mom though. I was sure she would tell me that staying with the job in Pittsburgh was the thing to do. (In spite of the evidence to the contrary.) And the word from her would have been all I needed to stay in Pgh. At the end of the conversation, I ask her, "so Mom, what should I do??" Her response shocked me. She said, "Jane, I know this is a tough decision for you, but no matter what you decide, we will be here for you." I was dumbfounded, what happened to my deciding factor.....mom's opinion?????? I knew I had to take the job out of town. Later my "mean mom" told me it was on of the toughest things she ever had to do, she had to resist telling me to stay with the job in Pittsburgh. She knew that I would make a my decision weighted heavily on her opinion. And she was right, I would have. She said, she knew she had to let me grow.....WOW.

Wonder if I will have her courage as a mom?!?!?!?!
