Beautiful answer, RM. You said it all, including my feeling that the 130s to 140s are a good place to buy in at this point. I'll be looking to add to my LEAPs if/when we get closer to 100.

And welcome to the thread JustLearning!

RocketMan, Poet, Edamo, rr5:

Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences. I have a few things to think about, but I am planning to buy 2002 LEAPS by averaging my buys in three separate chunks. I would like to buy the first third as soon as possible.

I think QCOM is struck in this trading range until end of Q3; When operators start demanding phone manufacturers for 1xRTT compatible phones, we should see a huge surge in handsets sales (new subscribers and replacements), and consequently higher ASIC sales and royalties. However there is an outside chance that some good news like Nokia or China deal gets announced and Qualcomm could move very quickly.

I joined SI last August, but have been busy with work and could not spend any time here. Looks like I should have, considering the explosive move by QCOM in the last 6 months. I would have made much more $$$ learning about investing than at work <GGG>. I appreciate your taking time to share your experiences and hopefully I can contribute something useful in the future.

I bought the Jan 01 40's hoping to sell "covered calls" on them, but I have to admit that your buy price is interesting.

My strategy, going to seed because of the drop in premiums, is to generate immediate cash.

Thanks for your detailed explanation.

Best,
Jeff Smith
