Brian, The only company that I can think of that would be likely to consider acquiring SDLI is Corning (GLW). They seem to be making a big push to put together everything they to to be a DWDM component/module/glass supplier. They recent bought out Oak from another company, so I see them as trying to be another JDSU.

I agree 100%. That is the only big combination that i see happening in this industry in the near term. I bet Corning will be involved. They seem aggressive in acquisitions as well--buying Oak for its optical business.

Any coincidence that both were up today?
I am still waiting for my GLW stock split; i think they were waiting for the secondary offering to be out of the way before making that announcement. That is why i expect a split within a week or two. If we don't get one, i would be pretty confident in saying that they are about merge with SDLI.
