Jim,

"Slump" goodness what an expression to use at a cc!!! Unbelievable. How can you reconcile the use of the word "slump" with what I thought I heard which was "may be or might be".

Surely "slumps" are detectable and don't need the qualification whereas 'modest downturns' or even 'downturns' might not be so easy to see early into a qtr.

'Slump' I would have thought would certainly have caught the atttention of analysts and said in the last sentance it would have left a really lasting impression. Using the word 'slump' is an open invitation to shorts from whom there will now be no relief unless and unitl someone of Dr J's standing in the company announces something that nullifies the effect of the word 'slump'.

BTW does anyone lese know how the other manufacturers.. ERICY, NOK, MOT are doing re this qtr. Are they also expecting 'slumps'?

Best regards,

L
