Pasaul,

I have the same issue. It used to be that you could
connect right to your branch, but that changed a couple of
months ago. Now you are put in a nationwide queue. They
told me they did it because some offices were swamped with
calls while others were always free. Probably a good call
for them, but very frustrating for me.

Many times I've had some issues that needed to be resolved
by my branch, and they had to send an email to the branch
to have them call me back. Translated: Crappy customer
service in those situations. In fairness, on other issues
they have been great.

Bottom line for me...I have felt a more negative than
positive impact from this change and have begun to move my
assets to another OLB because I have found Waterhouse to be
too frustrating. That, plus the fact that the only IPO
I've seen them offer was their own, and it took me hours on
the phone that night to get it right, only to see their
stock down about 50%, has given me a bad taste.

I haven't done it with the new SI, but it probably works much the same as the old SI.

1. At the top of this page, click on "BROKERAGES/INVESTMENT RESOURCES".

2. Go to the bottom of the new page displayed.

3. There you should find all you need to know to start a new thread.

Please do so. It would be nice if this thread could return to a higher content of investment information; and we could lose some of the whiners.

RE your whining:

1. Do you know the name of any person at Waterhouse that you would like to talk to. Have you ever asked anybody who first took your call to connect you to that person? When I ask a trader to connect me to a specific person, they seem to be able to do so every time in Canada. While our telephone systems are pretty good up here, the US isn't exactly in the dark ages.

2. I have several numbers.

The public non toll number to get to my branch office.

The public tollfree number to get to my branch office.

A local number that takes me directly to the first available trader.

A tollfree number that takes me directly to the first available trader.

The direct number for a supervisor that has rectified most problems I've encountered satisfactorily.

Unless Waterhouse in the States is a completely customer hostile organization which I strongly doubt, Waterhouse has always been most helpful in allowing me to communicate with whomever I choose whenever I choose to do so.

All I had to do was ask.

Now can we get back to TWE fundamentals or technicals?
