Transcribed from the audio conference call. Some words are difficult to hear. If 100% accuracy is required, please listen starting at the time mark.

Time Mark: 7:20

Question: Of your larger phone manufacturers that you do business with on the ASIC side, such as Samsung and Motorola, can you talk about what percent of their new platforms you're winning for ongoing ASIC business?

QCOM: In terms of new designs, both with the MSM-3000 chipset as well as the MSM-3100 chipset, we are garnering a very high percentage of wins there. In fact, as we said in Rich's(?) notes, we believe we've actually gained in terms of people using our MSM-3100 chipset over the number of customers using the MSM-3000 handsets (sic), so we're actually gaining, I think, in terms of phone design slots(?), not losing.

Question: Would that include the larger ones such as Samsung and Motorola?

QCOM: Yes it does.

Time Mark: 8:34

Question: Just as a followup on that, maybe since Don's there you could give us an update on Nokia specifically given their success in Brazil. Obviously Kyocera you're going to pick up -- any others you think you can win, and how important is the chip functionality of having IS95-B in winning some of those new designs?

QCOM: I think as both Irwin and Rich(?) both mentioned, Kyocera now is, even before the handset sale, had chosen our MSM-3100, and that's partly because it is the only chipset that is capable of doing 64 kilobits per second data, and still the only chipset that's proven in every CDMA network throughout the world.

Question: Do you have any competitive intelligence about the competition from a chip standpoint of other chips that may have that functionality in them, and when?

QCOM: All I can say is that there's nothing on the market today, that is a total solution, including the software solution....that I'm aware of.

IJ: Our intent is to get the 5000 out there by the time that people may be approaching the 3100 capability.

QCOM: Absolutely. As Irwin mentioned, we demonstrated with our 1x, the MSM-5000, and the CSM-5000, total over-the-air front and backwards compatibility to that standard and we think that's a very strong leadership position.
