I don't think that the company should reply to the shorts. It gives the shorts too much press. Akin to Mayor Giuliani in NY trying to close down a museum for an exhibit that few would have gone to see. All of a sudden, free publicity and a must see exhibit.
Cramer has always talked about the shorts having the upper hand close to earnings release because the companies cannot say much around the earnings release. Does anyone know the what the rules are?

The one thing THQI could do would be to announce that they have approved a stock buyback over the next quarter. They don't actually have to buy back anything but it would be funny to watch the shorts.

<<Yes of course that is the answer to the riddle: blow out both Q1 and Q2.>>

You gave me a nice laugh, Sigmund. Thanks. I agree, though I'm not sure Q1 will be a blowout. It probably depends on foreign sales for any big upside. But Q1 is the absolutely last transition quarter for THQ so just showing 10% growth is what I expect. Then much bigger growth for Q2 and Q3.

<<The best part about Q1 is that it gets reported so soon after Q4. Feb 25 for Q4 and then perhaps third
week in April for Q1 or barely two months in between. That will make it hard on the shorts. >>

Again, my little good news timeline goes like this:

February--earnings

March--Smackdown (march 2?) and PSX2 launch in Japan (march 4?)

April--earnings

May--E3

I think it leads to a new high in July, as per usual. I can see us ticking $40 by then.
