Knight/Trimark Group (NITE), the leading market maker in Nasdaq securities, was initiated late Thursday by Deutsche Banc Alex Brown analyst
Gary Kraft, who assigned the stock a "buy" rating.

"In depth of liquidity, reporting and customer care and relationships with internet brokers make it unsurpassed among traditional market makers," Kraft said in a research note.

He expects the Jersey City, N.J., company will post per-share earnings of $1.88 and $2.30 for 2000 and 2001, respectively.
