Z. LU suckered me big. Took a week of ferocious trading to get that loss back. Thanks to NN! Great month for me even with LU disaster.

I sold my NN because I think the odds are against the short term takeover occurring, plus the LU wound is still very fresh. I would not be surprised if it occurs short term, but I don't like the odds.

Good luck to longs.

GLOBAL ONE WELCOMES RESOLUTION OF
OWNERSHIP WITH FRANCE TELECOM

Newbridge also must be happy when two very large customers are
joining forces

BRUSSELS, January 28, 2000 Global One today welcomed the clarification
of its ownership issue and the announcement that France Telecom has
become its sole owner.

Daniel Caclin, the newly-appointed CEO of Global One, said today: I
look forward to heading an operation that has distinguished itself over
four years as a global telecommunications leader. Creating new synergies
with France Telecom, Global One will enhance its comprehensive
enterprise network solutions which offer maximum geographic reach,
seamlessness and connectivity on a truly global scale to the benefit of
its customers.

With its primary focus on multinational customers and their suppliers, a
global network infrastructure to support global and converged services,
and operating licenses around the globe, Global One constitutes a most
valuable operation for France Telecom. Global One will now look together
with France Telecom into how this value can be further increased through
the creation of new synergies and strengthened cooperation.

As Global One has a global backbone network of its own, the departure of
Sprint and Deutsche Telekom only concerns our existing and future
business in the United States and Germany. We would like to emphasize
that based on a transition agreement signed by all parties, Sprint and
Deutsche Telekom will continue to support existing Global One customers
under current conditions for up to two years. Customers can be
absolutely certain that all existing agreements with Global One will be
fully supported under the terms and conditions of their original
contract. Global One will quickly set up a strong operational and sales
presence in the U.S. and Germany in line with France Telecom s plans for
the U.S. and German market.

Global One revenues in 1999 amounted to approximately 1.1billion US$.
This figure, level with last year, reflects some controlled changes in
our revenue mix during 1999 and is also the result of clear moves
towards achieving a cost-efficient network.
