Hope y'all don't mind me pounding my drum for HAS. Won't hurt my feelings nun if you don't buy, but I want to return the favor for all the good picks you have given me--plus the nice, quiet haven from the maddening cabal out there. The following release, plus the fact that it withstood the slaughter today is a pretty good indicator that HAS's downside is limited w/ a great upside potential IMO. Perhaps not a screamer on which we mostly concentrate, but a reasonable candidate for a 50%er or more in a few mo. <<Hasbro Interactive Delivers The Number 1 Game of 1999 ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON Breaks Through the Clutter to Land Atop PC Games Chart BEVERLY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2000--Who wouldn't want to own their own amusement park? That playful invitation is just part of the charm - and success - of Hasbro Interactive's ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON, the PC game that proved the most popular for all of 1999, based on units sold in North America and tracked by PC Data. There were more than 5,000 PC games available at retailers last year. ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON broke through the clutter, fueled by its popular theme and Hasbro Interactive's mass-market approach to a genre of games -- strategy games -- that had been viewed as having relatively narrow appeal. ``ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON's success is another indication of the mass-market potential of interactive games,' commented Hasbro Interactive President Tom Dusenberry. ``ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON is that rare combination of a game that's as easy to get into as it is rich with detail, appealing to a broad range of ages and levels.' <<Friday January 28, 1:12 pm Eastern Time Company Press Release Hasbro Interactive Delivers The Number 1 Game of 1999 ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON Breaks Through the Clutter to Land Atop PC Games Chart ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON, released under the MicroProse brand of award-winning strategy games, lets players create and control everything, from the height and thrill-factor of their rollercoasters to the number of concession stands and bathrooms available to park patrons, and even advertising to attract new visitors. Using their imaginations, players get to creatively build an amusement park that will satisfy guests and turn a profit, so they can expand and run their parks for many seasons to come. Hasbro Interactive has had a string of best-sellers, such as its MONOPOLY, FROGGER, WHEEL OF FORTUNE and TONKA CONSTRUCTION games. Now, with ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON hitting #1, Hasbro Interactive has shown its strength with new content, as well as extensions of Hasbro and other brands. ``ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON has a very broad appeal, successfully combining the strategic elements of the life simulation category with the pure game-play of the action category,' commented PC Data Game Analyst Matt Gravett. Chris Sawyer, the game's creator, sees it this way: ``As humans, it's our nature to want to construct and look after things and that's what ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON is all about. What could be more fun than building and managing a park where the aim is to ensure that your hundreds of little guests are also having fun?' Keeping that fun rolling, Hasbro Interactive recently introduced ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON: CORKSCREW FOLLIES, an expansion pack featuring more rides and park environments. And Hasbro Interactive is currently in development on MONOPOLY TYCOON, a 3D MONOPOLY city that players will get to build and manage. The MONOPOLY TYCOON game will be unveiled at next month's American International Toy Fair and in stores this fall.>> Notice the mentions of the classics HAS is bringing online. BTW, I believe THQI is developing some of the games for HAS What do the HAS options look like Dale? Thanks, Jim
