Yes, I do have credit cards and a supermarket card. Did you not read the bit where I admited to selling my soul byte by byte?

In fact the profiling is not yet very clever. The name on my discount card is Avnae Klew; the address is 999 Main St. Nowhere, CA 9999. I have had my credit card refused - even though it had my real name. On calling internationally, it was explained that the change in location had triggered, not a refusal, but a demand for ID. The store clerk had not understood the code. Particularly interesting is that my air ticket had been bought using that same card. The system shouldn't have been surprised by where I was spending money. The systems are not yet sophisticated.

Even given that there is already some profiling, why should we not be disturbed about it becoming more effective? In California, the police can take your picture as we pass an intersection. Does that mean we should not be concerned about a proposal to put police cameras in our bedrooms? Of course not. If there is some grey in life, that is no excuse to introduce more black.

Apologies for walking the boundary, if not actually straying off-topic.
