"Big Deal....?!"
Man Kills Self After Losing Card Hand

DETROIT (Reuters) - An unidentified man shot and killed himself in a VIP section of the Motor
City Casino Wednesday after losing at a high-stakes card game, police said.

``From what we understand, he lost a hand and he pulled out the weapon and shot himself,'
said Detroit Police Inspector William Rice.

The man was on the fourth floor of the casino where some blackjack tables have a minimum
$100 bet. Rice said police were still trying to determine how much the man lost. He was in his
late 30s or early 40s and is from Michigan, Rice said.

The casino opened last month. Casino officials could not be reached for comment.

Police closed off the section of the casino where the shooting occurred, but people continued
to gamble in other sections of the casino, located in downtown Detroit.

The Motor City Casino is owned by Mandalay Resort Group (MBG.N) and a local partner called
Atwater Casino Group. The facility has 2,600 slot machines and 136 table games on its four
floors.

It is the second casino to open in Detroit since regulators approved two of the state's three
gambling licenses for Detroit. Detroit is the largest U.S. city to offer legalized gaming.

Yes, I guess I do. But that's not the question. It's a pretty ugly day, after a string of them, and I'm sure it's getting to be a bigger deal than it once seemed. At least it is to me.
