Customers; www.hilcozap.net Delivers Information and Services to Hilco
Customers

DALLAS, Jan 28, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- uniView Technologies Corp.
(Nasdaq:UVEW) has activated the advanced ISP system designed and
installed by uniView for HILCO Electric Cooperative.

This system is capable of delivering the latest in Internet services to
Johnson, Ellis and Dallas counties with continued expansion planned for
the balance of this year.

HILCO U.S. customers now have access to high-speed, reliable Internet
service through the uniView broadband backbone via personal computers,
set top boxes and other Internet appliances. uniView has designed the
company's ISP Website www.hilcozap.net to greet customers with
aggregate content including, calendar, news, local information and
navigation tips as they sign onto the HILCO Internet Service.

"The build out of the Hilco ISP continues to demonstrate uniView's
commitment to extending its business in the specialized utility
market," said Patrick Custer, president and CEO of uniView
Technologies. "Under this agreement uniView's Internet and networking
expertise is coupled with Hilco's marketing knowledge of the region to
build a recurring revenue stream that contributes to both companies'
sales."

"The Hilco and uniView ISP alliance allows Hilco U.S. to offer a
comprehensive package of services to their members and customers," said
Gerald W. Lemons, President of Hilco U.S. "Entering into the ISP market
strategically positions Hilco in the world's fastest growing
communications service and gives us a distinct advantage over
traditional utility companies by being able to respond directly to the
need and desires of our rural and urban customers. Offering a full
array of products and services is critical to small power providers and
their subsidiaries remaining competitive in a de-regulated energy
market. We are very proud to join with uniView in helping to bring this
technology to our region."

"From our technologically advanced backroom and the networking
expertise to integrate customized Internet access tools such as set-top
boxes, uniView has the solution for vertical markets. By understanding
the specific needs of each individual client, we can use one, some, or
all of these technologies to develop ways to improve efficiencies and
provide products and services to the rural areas," said Mr. Custer.

HILCO Electric Cooperative is a locally owned, non-profit, electric
cooperative organized in 1936. It is owned by the members it serves in
