I understand your logic, but in an upper bracket tax rate, shares have to fall 35% - 40% to break even on your sale. We're past that now, but it wasn't a total given; there is a risk factor, too. I feel more comfortable, selling a little when it hurts (soaring up), buy a little when it hurts, (going down) and working options for the rest.
