Capitalized development costs.

I do consulting work in the IT industry. On a few occasions I have had to put a value on a company. One of the ways of doing this is to assess the R&D. This is important for at least two reasons. Certainly R&D if successful leads to additional revenues or reduced costs depending on the target of the R&D. Also R&D represents a time advantage in that competitors can not duplicate the R&D instantly even if they have the funds. But of course R&D that is not successful is just money down the drain.

Capitalizing development costs, if fully disclosed, should make it easier for analysts and individual investors to assess the health of a company. It would be useful to have a breakdown between development re particular titles versus development re infrastructure and new technology.

If we close up today, it will be a very nice change of pace.

Anyone buying today?

That's one of the problems with THQI. It is still kind of a small company and a $556 million investment would buy the whole company. Probably means that there are companies out there looking to buy THQI at much higher levels.

It looks like JANUS is not the...

only MF taking a decent size position in a Gaming Company.

I'm collecting all the information I can on..

Herb GreenBerg, James Chanos, David Rocker and Jeff Matthews.

I'm sending it to the SEC to let them know what's going on.

If they want to look into the unusual option trades and recent release of the Greenberg article - great. If not, perhaps they will be put on a watch list etc..
