N.A. Palladium to expand mine

" Subject to the availability of financing and environmental permits, the Company anticipates construction start-up in March 2000, with concentrator commissioning in second quarter 2001."

Ali, seems to me the answer is 18 months to ramp up production to 15000 tons of ore processed per day. Not too long in the overall scheme of things. Meanwhile of course the old concentrator will continue in operation, churning out Pd worth almost $500/oz. Even at the old production rate the new price of Pd makes the balance sheet look a lot better, as Ptask pointed out.

In a Gold-Eagle editorial, Heinrich Leopold suggests that in this economic environment it is important to invest in the precious metals only after prices have begun to go up, as is now the case for Pt, Pd and oil. For palladium he recommends North American Palladium (T.PDL).
