You got it wrong. Nothing to do with e-machines but everything to do with product transitions, selective component shortages and Y2K slowdowns.

DELL did fine in the SOHO market.

Do you have any data to offer on that point, given that MD pointed to problems in revenue growth in both the consumer and small and medium business market?

They did not do well in the consumer market because of component shortages and inconsistencies

I'll agree with the first part of that statement, but the reason is a bit more complex than you appear to offer.

So far, the thesis outlined last year of declining margins and declining revenue growth appears to be holding true to form.

I'll check back in six months from now and see what occurs.
