Salah: " wild statements"?

The reference to the apparent change in Capellas projections was taken from other posters before me who were apparently citing Reuters or other sources. I think that it is normal and conventional to use such sources here. I, for one, did not have access to his address to analysts.

The rest of my post relied on Capellas own words last week before the CC as well as Dan Niles's interpretation of the CC as he presented it in an interview I listened to and which has been referenced here.

I'm not employed by COMPAQ or anyone here to do DD - this is a forum for discussion. Besides I have done DD to my own satisfaction and have come to the conclusion that even at 15% growth pa and 12% margins COMPAQ does not offer prospects for share growth comparable with many other fine companies in the next six 6-9 months. It's value to me is as a short term trading vehicle as it moves within narrow trading ranges.

If Capellas really intends to do better than that he should quit playing games and say what he means. If he was trying to be cute and "conservative" he did not play his hand adroitly - it was clumsy. I know that most longs think he did very well - otherwise why would they be long. But I don't think my opinion is eccentric - just look at the share price.

Anyway, best wishes with your investment. I hope it does well and I think it will, especially in the 2nd half of 2000.
