Wayne, >>I personally hate the thought of having to repack and ship a PC and deal with the related hassles. I'd rather just go back to the store and deal with someone face to face so I can get it resolved immediately.

My experience with returning goods "via shipping" has been great. I sent back a Powerbook to Apple because I dropped it and something happened to the screen. I called Apple in the AM (no cost call) they had Airborn at my house with a box by noon. Airborn waited for me to put the powerbook in the box and I had my computer back in one day "working". Further more they did not charge me since the drop was within spec limits. I once had a similar experience with a disk drive, except there was a new drive in the box from the company via Airborn the next day; and I put the one with problems in the box for return to the company. I personally would prefer to work with the company since the probability of having a working system after repair should be high.

I do remember MB's struggle with Compact Computer, but I have been fortunate in getting things fixed.

Now, I had support from Apple once, where someone came to my house to correct a problem and that was ok. <ggg>
