"...530 million shares will be held by 3Com, the filing said. The company plans to divest of its holdings within six months by distributing the shares to 3Com shareholders."

It doesn't look like the 20% is what they decided upon. They said that after the IPO there would be 570M PALM shares outstanding. Of this 530M PALM shares will be held by COMS and distributed to COMS shareholders. So we should compare the 530M number with the number of outstanding shares of COMS, I think.

Mr. Mark,

don't forget about the 225 million investment by Motorola, AOL, this is separate from the 23 million shares. We don't know how much those are priced at. the 225 million investment and the 320.7 million raised from the ipo make up the 20% of the equity, in my view.
