I think you guys are reading a little too much into the word "slump". The CC clearly stated that they expected a sequential RISE in royalties....though chip sales would see a sequential decline. They said they were comfortable with analyst's estimates for next quarter and also the year.....and also IJ reiterated his estimate of 70m cell phone sales for the year.

Repeat after me....the fundamentals have not changed.

One good thing....this will be the last year in which the Q is dependent on Korean cell-phone sales to provide growth. Hopefully by FY2001, CDMA will have a large enough base to not get hit by one country having a slightly down quarter (still dont know what the exact numbers are).

I'll just throw out a couple.Employee stock options,Dr J's known desire to lower the price to a more affordable level.I just feel it was not done without considerable forethought.

Limtex re: Dr. J, the "slump", 3/00 expectations. I think he's pretty clearly saying that revenues will slump, as they almost always do seasonally, but because of the change in "mix" to more royalty revenues, eps will be OK. Dr. J for sure reads the major analysts' reports and recognizes that if the projected gross revenue #'s aren't going to be met, better to say so now rather than later.

Maybe unfortunate timing to be "talking the stock down" in advance of this particular last few trading days, but c'est la vie.
