I did my scaling back last week, after I had written covered calls in December on all my stocks, and they were ALL CALLED LAST FRIDAY. Guess what I have more of now? So......Not me. Options are a strong part of my investing strategy. But I agree on the margin debt. Don't use it now. It's about to cost you 50BP more, and you're going to be getting some T-Calls very soon.... However, I am patiently waiting for more fear. I am selectively writing fat premium puts on stocks I want to own. I am writing selective calls on stocks that I don't think will be called, but don't mind losing. For example, does anyone here think JDSU will go to 280 in 3 weeks? <Hint Hint>. Patience...keep your powder dry. You may not get the bottom, but you'll get a reasonable deal from where we just came from. Steve
