This is inventory clearance. Note that AMD is not selling any 500s and no that many 550s. In a month when the next K6-2/K6-2+ speed grades are introduced, Intel would have serious problems selling the 500s. Chuck

Kash Re <<The price war is just starting.>> I disagree. This in not price war IMO. Just selling low end of the MHz spectrum for discount. Also DRAM spot prices have dropped a lot. I also imagine other components such as the graphics cards are also gotten a lot cheaper over the past few weeks. CPU pricing is relatively firm at the slowest time of the year. Mani
