Ran across this article - well known on this thread but the chart of sales is interesting, MSD has definitely stepped his sales of DELL stock WAY up if you believe the chart.

The Fingerprints of Michael Dell's Insider Trading
1/28/2000 2:31:07 PM

On Wednesday after the close, Dell Computer (DELL -37-3/4) announced that it sees fourth-quarter earnings below expectations. The company sees its earnings come in five cents below expectations due to inconsistent flow of semiconductor components and slower sales. It is interesting to note that the CEO of DELL has been slowly shedding some of his holdings in the personal computer maker over the last couple of years. According to Washington Service, Michael Dell ranked number two in total sales by an insider. Mr. Dell sold $1.6 billion worth of stock in 1998, second only to Bill Gates who sold $2.5 billion last year. Below is a chart of DELL (top graph) along with Mr. Dell's sales (bottom graph). It is noteworthy that his sales of his holdings have substantially increased in the last two years relative to the past eight years.
